[C320-list] Engine control problem

Ever since I have owned the boat. the gear lever would rotate slightly in the same direction that I move the throttle.  The problem is now getting worse and last week the boat did not go into reverse the first time when I was docking.  Maybe that was a hint that I should not continue to ignore the problem.  Anyone else have this problem and what was the fix?
