Ralph,
Glad you got it figured out, sorry that it was not a loose wire!  A freind had to replace the wind lass on his 320.  He said he had to cut some of the fiberglass after removing the forward bulkhead in the V-Birth.  From his description it did not sound like the glass he removed provided any function.

Thanks for the offer to assist.  Today with the help of a elec. engr. at my 
YC we determined that the problem is the motor.  Removal of the motor and/or 
the whole unit is going to be a challenge that I'm not looking forward to. 
It almost looks like CY installs them before they bond the deck to the hull.
