I also use a similar product I purchased at Costco and it dramatically
reduces the generator's vibration transferred to the deck.

I used some rubber matting from Lowe's that folks use in workshop and garage
floors. It come in a 4-5 piece package. It only takes one piece, so I put
one under my AC drip pan to reduce its vibration, one under the Honda and
the others in front of my work bench in the garage.

I imagine that the noise issue is very different depending on whether
you are using the thing to run AC, with the generator on deck and you
below, than if you are sitting in the cockpit enjoying natural AC off
the water.  It would be different still if you are in the boat anchored
astern.

What kind of rubber mat do you use?  I may have to try that.
