That truly is a boat price!  

I have not done it on this boat (yet) but I did rebuild the water pump on
the older boat.  If you have a vice and a little patience it is not that
hard and you may be able to save a lot.  Usually what goes is the bearing
and the seals and you use the vice to press the old ones out and the new
ones in.

I have a Perkins M30 and need to replace the salt water   pump.  I have been

quoted a price of $625.32 for the pump alone.  This  sounds ridiculous to me

....any comments?
