[C320-list] Battery Charging w/Onboard Charger

It's likely wired to the battery switch in such a way that both  
batteries will charge regardless of the switch position.
That way the batteries would be charged with the switch in the off  
position, avoiding powering any devices you inadvertently left on.
You could check this by leaving the switch off and putting a voltmeter  
across the battery terminals.  You should see about 12.6-13.0 volts.
Switch on the charger, and the voltage should rise higher to about  
13.8-14.5 volts.
