[C320-list] Starting Problem

The power cables to the solenoid is always hot. Low amperage current from
the ignition switch operates the solenoid making the contact and making the
circuit to the starter. Bad switch or bad solenoid will produce your
symptoms. Check the switch current with a volt ohm meter or 12v circuit
test light. If there is 12v to the solenoid, check the connections on the
solenoid, particularly on the ground side and if good, replace
defectivesolenoid. Usually you can hear the solenoid 'click' when it is
operating.
