Look at the nameplate which is located on the forward side of the engine,  
just above the water pump.

The key question is if you have a Euro or Japan version.
See if you plate says made in Japan.
The Euro versions had that part of the plate clipped off.
I believe you have hull 1029, so chances are you have the Euro engine.
I believe Catalina switched to the 3YM30 shortly after your hull, around  
1035.
