I have a 94 Perkins with a 3 blade fixed prop.? I run her at 2800 rpm's all day long and she runs great?I can get a max of about 3200 -3300.?? Also at ideal she?vibrates a lot, I just bump her up a little until it stops.??

I belive perkins manual says that 3300 rpm is the max.?

I agree I would use another tac to check your rpms sounds like?yours could be off.?

Hi Barry,

With hull 126, I assume you don't have a yanmar engine. Are you sure
you should be getting higher RPM wide open in neutral? I thought only
the yanmar spun over 3000. 2500-2800 sounds about right for "more
experienced" westerbeke, perkins and universal diesels.

But of course I don't know for sure here.
