[C320-list] Exhaust

Paul,
I haven't dealt with that and I'm assuming you've inspected the water lift
muffler for any possible cracks, seems to be a common failure mode. If you
have to build up the fitting coming out of the hose I'd look for some hose
that is ID 1.75" and OD 2.0". Cut it the length of the fitting coming out
of the water lift muffler and then reinstall original hose with a couple of
hose clamps - tight.

Subject: [C320-list] Exhaust

All,

I've been smelling exhaust inside the boat. I sent the elbow off for some
work, and after wards pressure tests say there is
no leak. Reinstalled but I still have the problem. Yesterday I took out the
entire system, found some damage under the
clamps so I replaced the section between the elbow and the muffler. I cut
off about 1 1/2 inches of the section going
out the back. One thing I discovered is the exhaust hose is two inches but
the fitting on the back side of the muffler is
something less, probably 1 3/4. I reinstalled everything but I swear the
smell is still there. Tomorrow I plan to install
a CO2 DETECTOR. Can the muffler fitting be brought up to 2 inches, and how
would that be done? Or, can the 2 inch
hose be changed out to 1 3/4 without causing any problems. Has anyone dealt
with this?

Thanks,

Paul
