[C320-list] Corroded electronics plugs

In addition to the excellent suggestions already made for cleaning up the
contacts chemically there are several brands of contact protectants.  You
should apply some every few times that you make and break the connection to
avoid corrosion in the future.
If you can avoid scraping the contacts you are better of.  When you scrape
you leave scars that make it easy for corrosion to get a foot hold.  You are
much better of with a pencil eraser.

Our radar is not working and I think it is because the plug has mild
corrosion.  We have to unplug it and take it in after sailing and
despite putting plastic on it, it has some greenish corosion.  All
electronics folks we've contacted grimace at replacing the plug.  Does
anyone know a way to get the corrosion off other than using a fine wire
to scrape at it?
