[C320-list] Insurance Question

UPDATE--I posted this back in January and I did do some shopping around. I
found several insurers including BoatUS that will not require a survey (and
will be a few bucks cheaper!). Looks like Zurich will lose my business. I do
have to wait for a couple of weeks and reapply though. These quotes are good
for 30 days and my current policy does not expire until end of April--so if
anyone else finds themselves in this situation, shop around!

We've had this sort of posting before. If your insurance provider
will pay for the haul, then fine.
If not, they should wait for fall haulout, or whenever you haul for
paint and maintenance, or you should shop for another provider.
I can understand insurance providers surveying a vessel after several
years (like 10 or so). They should have that survey coincide with
either the usual seasonal haulout or when the owner hauls for
maintenance, painting, etc. It would only take a couple of phone
calls or emails to set a schedule.
They're supposedly MARINE insurance providers, and should know the
cost of a haul.
