but electronics change faster than they corrode.

Unless it is going in the cockpit or salt water splashes around you a lot..
go for the standard stuff and sock away the savings for the next version
that comes along. Jimmy Buffet in "3D" and "smellovision" could be just
around the corner!

My guess here is that by the time you start having problems because of salt
air, your grand-kids will be laughing at that antique dinosaur of a TV
