Sounds like a salt water corrosion issue. I have no problems with my 95
sailed in fresh water.... did add a clutch for the topping lift, see west
marine for options.

Subject: [C320-list] Rope Clutches on 1995 C320?

The rope clutches we use for the mainsheet and the main halyard will not
stay flat forward and allow the lines to run free. One of these clutches is

in a 3 clutch unit on the port cabin top and the other is in a 2 clutch unit

on the starboard cabin top.
I suppose it is just old age since the boat is 13 years old although litely
used until recent years.
Has anyone experienced this problem and found a repair or replacement
solution?
There is no brand name or mfg'r noted on the units.
