[C320-list] Install 'cigarette lighter' charger at ignition switch housing

I want to install a 'cigarette lighter' style charger at the housing that
has my ignition key, fuel gauge etc, directly in front of the steering
wheel. This is to plug in my GPS devise, which has this type of plug on it's
charging cord.  I know there must be power in this housing as the ignition
switch is here.

Has anyone done this and if so, is a technically challenged skipper, such as
myself, capable of doing this?
