I just bought some red festoon bulbs from LED www.lights.com.
They were about $5 each and went in the night light position of my
florescent fixtures. The work great for night sailing and only draw a few
tenth's of a watt. You need to know your bulb diameter and length
(preferably in mm)(mine were 10 mm diameter by 31 mm length) and how bright
you want. I have tried in my main halogen fixtures one "white" bulb I got at
the Annapolis boat show but, but it turned out more blue that white and too
dim.
