Your RACOR element is probably the R15 series. Most of us seem to run with  
the 10 micron size (R15T) but others have had success with the 2 micron  
(R15S). I just changed a R15S out after 8 months and 220 hrs - very little  
dirt and no apparent backpressure issues.
In spite of success with the R15's, I recently changed to the R20 series  
elements. The R20 is 0.7" deeper but offers more filtering area and 25%  
more dirt retention of the R15 series for the same cost. If you have the  
room under filter, I'd consider that change.
