Even so, you'll go nuts in trying to get GPS and knotmeters to display the same speeds all of the time...they are used for different speed measurements......

Notice she said inland lake and even with a dam and water flow 
through it the current is still zero and wave action is very small 
compared to the ocean or SF BAY.
