There is the story of the photographer who brought his pictures to a dinner
party.  Everyone admired them and the hostess said "You must have a really
good camera to take pictures these good."


At the end of the dinner the photographer turned to the hostess and said:
"Dinner is wonderful, you must have some very good pots and pans."

Well said, Adam. And great point about the overall safety of  
cruising. There are actually very few bad events as a percentage of  
miles sailed. Those few do make "news" and hopefully offer lessons.  
"Stuff happens" on boats, but patience, proper planning, and staying  
out of harms way can minimize the seriousness.
