[C320-list] Connectors at Mast Step

I concur with the post listed below.

I removed my mast for the first time in 12 years and observed debris mostly
from insects. Bring a knife with you if you need to cut away any electrical
tape that may have been used to reduce moisture from corroding the
connectors.

Since I saved so much money not removing the mast each year, I decided to
have my rigger replace all of the standing rigging and beef up the backstay
and turnbuckles while I had the mast layed up for the winter. I set aside
the old rigging that could be reused/rotated next time the mast comes down.

I also replaced all of the connectors in the spring and re-taped/sealed them
since I do not plan to take down the mast for many years.

If there are connectors, and the mast hasn't been off the boat for years:

a) there is probably a lot of crud/debris in there so expect that.
b) the connectors (assuming they are there) could be frozen/corroded
together.

So some pliers etc and a can of WD40 would be good to have around. Tell
the crane-
driver to to take it up maybe 10 inches initially, so you can deal with
whatever
you find.

Warren, there should be connectors for everything. Good to have wire
cutters in hand an
just in case! Then you can install a connector for anything that doesn't
have it.

Want to unstep the mast, 1st time for me on this 1994 boat. What might I
expect to find at the base of the mast in terms of wire connectors?

Is it likely that the antenna coax has no connector and I must pull it back
from the radio and remove the entire cable from the mast post? What about
the electric wires and the ST50 wind transducer? Would most installers
provide a connector?

I realize these issues are greatly dependent on the installer; but, might
there be some common sense things an installer would do.
