[C320-list] Gelcoat Repairs

I have a quarter sized ding on the stem (bow) I need to repair. I'm handy
with epoxy; but, am unclear on gelcoat. Can someone give a brief primer on
mixing and curing gelcoat?

I bought the gelcoat and hardner from Catalina(CA). They sent the hardner
but no wax. I'm unclear about the curing. Should I expect to isolate the
applied gelcoat from air?  How do I use PVA to accelerate the cure?  How
much hardner?  Etc. and etc.
