[C320-list] Lifelines

When we did the factory tour several years ago with the C320 Rendezvous,
Gerry Douglas told us Catalina was moving to non-covered lifelines.

If you see rust stains at the swages of the fittings or any nicks in the
vinyl covering, there is a very good chance that you have crevice corrosion.
This is a condition in stainless steel where moisture trapped in an
anaerobic environment like that found in swages and under the vinyl covering
will corrode the metal and lead to premature failure.

Because you can't inspect effectively under the vinyl, most offshore
racing rules now specify bare wire (or in some instances high tech low
stretch lines). I went to wire with a clear covering when I replaced the
lines on my last boat and I could see rust after two seasons.

After seeing that, it will be bare wire when I replace the lines on
Commitment (probably this season).
