Ed, I think someone previously mentioned that when he cut the transducer
wires he used a terminal block for the connections so that the transducer
could easily be removed from the boat. I don't know how valid a practice
this is. If you were to keep the connections on the terminal block clean,
you probably wouldn't have a problem. Still, the purest among us would say
that any connection introduces a current drop.  Maybe one of the electrical
engineers will weigh-in on this.

Jeff,
Thanks for the help, I've got e-mails out to Gemeco and Airmar trying to get
the correct parts numbers.  Airmar confirmed that I can cut and splice the
cable with their splice kit or by soldering and heat shrinking the splice.
