[C320-list] Smoke detectors?

think of that, but would address the need and minimize the need to find two

I have an inexpensive combined unit from Home Depot in the rear berth. Makes
me feel better for a number of hazards, none too likely, but taken
together.. real. One to remember is exhaust from an adjacent gasoline engine
boat at a raft up or close dock. We had just that this spring when we tied
up to a 45 foot gas powered powerboat whose generator exhaust aimed at my
portlight. They turned it on in the middle of the night for cooling. I
change the battery each spring. It reminds me nicely.

Jon,
We have a CO detector in the aft birth and a smoke detector on the ceiling
right outside the head.  Used velcro to attach the smoke detector as it
needs to go outside when ever I'm cooking...

Just curious if others have installed a smoke detector, or if there
insurance underwriter has asked that you do so. I recently had a survey and
the surveyor noted that I need to add CO monitors in sleeping berths per new
guidelines, but my insurance company is asking me to also add a smoke
detector. I'm certainly not opposed to the idea, but I guess I was a bit
surprised by this one.thanks..
