[C320-list] bedding compound

It's the Lewmar portlights that I've used it on. I had leaks that I
couldn't solve by replacing gaskets and o-rings. What I finally figured out
was that the leaks were coming through the seam where the two exterior
aluminum pieces join. The original bedding compound had worn out. With the
hatch tape, rebedding is an easy job, but you still have to use some caulk
to fill the seam.

Do you think this would work equally well on the Lewmar opening ports? I
have to replace the gaskets and rebed those before the cover comes off in
the spring...

I'll second using the bomar hatch tape instead of bedding compounds.

It's really easy to apply, no mess and works great.

When you join the tape at the bottom edge of the hatch, cut the tape at an
angle and that'll create an overlapped joint that's tight and won't leak
after the hatch is tightened down.

For me, the front hatch was a single beer project. That never happens to me
on boat projects. :)

Bomar P2000-81 hatch mounting tape is really good stuff. It's easy to use
and doesn't make a mess. I've used it on rebedding all my portlights. The
33' roll goes a long way, too. Select Plastics should have it:
