David,

I had the same results, including a conversation with Jeff. They sell a
special brush, which an owner on the this site did buy and said was worth
the price, but the foam brushes work great. It is also my understanding that
Catalina uses this product (before they moved to the synthetic sole) for
boats out of the factory...

Just to clarify, the Oxford Hybrivar 7000 IS the Target product.
