We replaced our Hood furler with a Harken furler 3 years ago and are happy with it.  It was more than $800 less than the Shaefer RF, which was our second choice -- due to price.   Rollie  #182

My boat neighbor needs to replace his RF on a Tartan 33. I have helped him 
research the options--it came down to the Shaefer 2100 (which is currently 
what Catalina installs on our boats) and the Harken. We went down to 
Annapolis and talked to all the RF reps and he has decided on the Harken 
based on price. It was significantly cheaper than the Shaefer (somewhat to 
my surprise)--
