Never had a single line furler but one problem I've heard is they can be a problem if you need to furl the sail in high winds.

Good and timely topic. The drum on the Hood furler is so small that a reasonably sized control line has to be cored to get it to fit. What a lousy compromise. I manage to live with it and won't replace unless it's broke.  However, does anyone have experience with the continuous line furlers? What are the pluses and minuses?  How is the lazy part of the line usually lead?
