[C320-list] Bottom keel to Pulpit height

Don,

You are correct - when running aground it is much easy getting a float  
vs. a wing keel.

It is a bit fuzzy on the cost, since it was a few years ago.  I  
believed the entire deal cost around $9,000 (shipping, installation,  
the keel itself); I think I did get a credit for the old keel.  That  
was the year I did about $70k in upgrades on the boat (sails,  
electronics, keel, hydraulic backstay adjuster, etc., etc.).

The fin keel was definitely a major improvement both for racing and  
cruising. Yes we are mostly not in shallow waters.  Though two years  
ago, Lake Michigan levels were so low, my keel rested an 1" in the mud  
in the boat slip!
