Our v-berth hatch had a lexan (Plastic type pin) that kept sliding out. I pushed it out and replaced it wit a 12-56 screw and nylon insert lock nut. Then I had to cut off the part of the screw extending beyond the lock nut to prevent an interference when closing hatch Irv Grunes 2001 #851
