This Defender microwave MAY fit but will require some modifications to the  
boat.

The compartment on my boat (2000 model) measures 9.5" H x 19.375" W x  
11.75" D.
You could probably get an extra 1" or so by routing out the top facepiece  
(like the factory did for the bottom facepiece). The depth is not all that  
critical as the microwave can extend from the opening (as long as the feet  
are supported). You are going to be securing it with mounting clips anyway.

Be advised that Lowes has the GE JES735WJ (their SKU 265884) that might  
fit (with the modification discussed above) and costs only $29 on sale  
thru 7/27.

17"W-10-1/8"H-12-3/4"D. Not the one I bought from them awhile back, but I
believe those dimensions work.

I still have some checking to do but I have been told that Tappan
discontinued this model and I haven't found anything that fits into the
space that this one is in.

Exactly!! Bill, we have the exact same problem. I used it once last summer
for
popcorn and now the light comes on and the timer works, but no heat. Must
be a
bad model. After contacting Tappan, people at Catalina Yacht, Seaward (that
installed them), I'm back in touch with Warren Pandy at the Catalina Yachts
location in Largo, FL. I just talked with him yesterday. He will probably
use
a different brand for replacement. Our boat was still under warranty when I
discovered it no longer worked so we will not have to pay for the
replacement.
