Karl

Thanks.

Where is the duckbill valve? Is it in the plastic U?

I did have the through hull closed but opened it when the problem occurred but it didn't help. Although I never knew it had multiple positions. I will get it there and look again.

Thanks

Jeff is correct, but you may also have a problem with the antisiphon loop
for the shower drain line.

The duckbill valve inside it is designed to relieve vacuum, not to open
with pressure.
Open it up and make sure
a. the duckbill portion is indeed there
b. the "lips' are pointing down, away from the cap
c. the hole in the cap is not restricted

We have 3 of these antisiphons on the boat and they each should be checked
annually.

Rick, this happens when the shower sump thru hull is not open when you
run the pump.

If you have a "Y" valve under the head sink then one position is fridge
and the other is shower.

2 things

1. Is it true the shower drain pump is used to pump out the ice box?

2. Today when I turned the shower pump on to drain the icebox today I
heard a sound like air popping in the head. I opened the door and there
was water coming from the VENT hose on behind the head in the cabinet.

Anyone have any idea what the problem is?

Thanks
Rick
