This is only one of the reasons I dislike WM.

At all costs I try to go to my locally owned stores or the internet. I only use WM when I'm in a jam.

I lugged the new head to the dinghy, motored to the mooring, transfered
the head to the deck and went on board. I took the new head out of the
box. removed all plumbing from old head. uninstalled it. put it in
the box for the new head. put the box in the dinghy. removed the flush
hose from the new head so that it would be ready for the pre-installed
plumbing. removed the waste elbow mounting flange and joker valve.
picked up the new head and put it in place, ready to bolt down.

Only then did I notice that the new bowl was cracked all the way through
in four places.

Wish I had checked it before leaving WM! They probably dropped it in
shipping. Lesson learned.

In the end I reinstalled the old head but used the new pump assembly.
Life is too short to try to return the broken head, which didn't cost me
any more than the usual price for the pump.
