Thanks to all for the great information. I returned (today in the snow) the mast car etc for vertical pole storage and ordered a shorter track as well as a car with a ring and pin. This netted me about $350 for another project !!! Maybe I will invest in lighter sheets as per OD's suggestion. There is also a video by Forespar on using a whisker pole.
