[C320-list] Draining Fuel Tank

Doug - I had a reputable mechanic tell me they thought I potentially had
some issues with my fuel being old / dirty, wherein it can get (and was)
contaminated with growth. Strongly recommend you take care of it if it
appears needed - can foul fuel nozzles, etc. I had another service pump
mine out and clean tank thoroughly.

I don't think you'll find a 'drain'. None on mine, not typical for fuel
tanks I think. I recommend hiring a professional. Plus you'll need
proper disposal of fuel. If you're on Chesapeake Bay, I know a guy......

In my case (a 1999 c320), they went inside the boat, as they cannot get
every nook and corner of the tank from through the fuel fill line at the
deck. I believe they went through the sender mounting and the line
fittings. They actually pumped tank dry, if any fittings are large
enough they can rag out as well, 'flushed' it with a couple gallons of
clean fuel, pump that out, and then added new diesel.

Cost would have been about $450 dollars - (but my marina owed me - long
story). Good luck.

Subject: [C320-list] Draining Fuel Tank

After six years of using 4 gallons of diesel fuel per year, I think it
is
time to drain the tank and start over. What is the best way to
accomplish
this? Should I drain it from the tank itself or syphon it from topside?
Or, am I being too cautious and just let the old fuel stay where it is?
