Great news everyone...
No need to speculate, call the manufacturer, or run to the boat to read
the inside of the oven door.

The operating manual for the Seaward 2172 stove is now posted on YOUR
association website....

OK, maybe I do need a refresher -- cause I haven't used the oven in two
years. I'll start there.

But I know I've used it once or twice. The first mate used to fix biscuits
and gravy. She hasn't been
going out. So I want to make sure I can at least do biscuits this year.

I'm pretty sure the gas starts to flow by pushing the oven knob in, and
then you hit the red striker
to lite it. But what do I know?

I'll be going to the boat tomorrow and I'll give this another shot. So are
you saying that it doesn't
work like the burner striker? So, turn on the gas tank, turn on the power
panel switch, turn on the
oven gas, hit the striker and the pilot light will come on. Problem is the
striker does not snap. No snap
no current to light the gas.

But I'll try it again and report back. Good idea to call the manufacturer.

Crap, I just reread..the oven striker is passive, you have to have the
propane flowing, push the oven striker down and light the pilot
