[C320-list] Wing vs deep keel

Wing keel here. It's still a quick boat, beats the C34's no problem. I took
my dock neighbor against his race prepped C&C 34 quite easily. It doesn't
point as high for sure, but put a feathering prop on and it will point
higher and keep the bottom clean, it's quick.

I anchor near the head of many bays with the original wing keel (I believe
it's even shallower than the newer 320's). The boat floats about 3/4" lower
in the water than the other fin keel 320's on our dock, in part with the
extra weight in the keel, but also in part because I carry 60' of 5/16th BBB
chain, so I'm comfortable when it blows up over night.

Catalina 320 owner. It has a keel, which shall remain nameless so as not to
inflame the zealous racer nor promote a feeling of inferiority in the casual
cruiser. It is a great boat, purchased new in 1999, and economy not
withstanding, it will remain in the family stable for quite some time. If
you choose to wage the Ginger or Mary Ann battle don't expect the court to
line up on your side. Tis much more impressive to outrun a competitor on the
water than on the computer. Kudos to Brian.

Wing keel. Original main and 150%. Tri-radial 135% (last year). Bottom of
the fleet. Tucked in tight in shallow river anchorages.
