[C320-list] Oil for the Perkins

I've been using Rotella Synthetic from Walmart.  I used to use oil from John Deere (because I had 15 gallons of it for my tractor). 
Unless you bother with oil analysis,  you'll never know how good or bad any oil is. But even poor oil changed often is better than good oil run too long or not allowed to get hot enough to boil out the moisture. 

Seems like the days of worrying about oil quality are pretty much gone by.

Just to add two more cents to the discussion, When I bought # 205, as a Facilities Maintenance retiree, I sought the advice of our technician that maintains the Diesel Emergency Generators for the Illinois Verizon Communications buildings.  Based on his 40 years of experience with Diesel engines, he was adamant that I only buy the Rotella oil in the 15W40 weight.
