[C320-list] Small leak at Propeller Plate

I'm thinking along the same lines.  The strut should be very solid, if not it should be removed , cleaned up, re-bed and properly reinstalled.  Our cutlass bearings are very thin and prone to wearing out quickly, especially if the prop and shaft are out of balance, the shaft is out of alignment or the motor mounts are worn out or broken.  
If everything is sound and properly installed I don't believe there should be any water leaking in from the strut.

I'm wondering if this is really all that important?  If it moves a lot and your hull has the exposed bolts, then perhaps making sure they're tight, and that your prop shaft is properly aligned is enough. 

If the strut wiggles a lot and tightening the bolts doesn't help then maybe the more serious fix is needed.  

Water will seep in anyway over time unless its fully glasses . So the putting sealant/epoxy at the hull near the outer surface area seems like a cosmetic one at best.  We have a very slight amount of wiggle. 

I think the fix diagram from catalina is in the photo gallery in the Scanned Documents album.  It mostly applies to the earlier hulls without the Exposed bolts in the aft cabin??

I plan on using a dremil tool to route out around the base and then filling it with marine tex.  After sanding I will put 3 coats of barrier coat and then paint.  It will only take a few hours to complete.
