You can also use transducer paint--especially since one of those little
bottles lasts for about 10 years--and it's water based...

Ed,
In stead of bottom paint you can use finger nail polish (color of your
chosing). We've been doing that for the last few years and the zinks have
been doing a much better job of staying tight.

Our boat has a MaxProp and we have owned the boat for 4 years. It has been
great problem free, backing port or starboard is no concern especially with
our turning radius. The prop always feathers, I check periodically when
racing.

The only problem that I have noticed is the propeller zinc. We are in a
fairly hot marina and I change zincs at 8 months. The zinc around the
anchoring bolts is the thinnest part of the zinc. Once the zinc had fallen
off due to corrosion, probably. Other times the zinc is usually near
failure. Last Spring I had the bottom painted professionally and the shop
recommended that they use bottom paint around the bolt holes. I had a diver
clean the bottom and check zincs two weeks ago. He specifically checked the
prop zinc to see how the bottom paint was working. The area around the bolt
holes is holding up and the zinc is being (eroded, corroded, electrolyzed?)
used up.

if
you are having similar problems.

If anyone sees a problem with this please let me know, I don't need to add
to my list of headaches.
