Thanks, Jeff. Incidentally, I followed your recommendation re. making sure
the blocks at the base of the mast are free to turn. I used PB Blaster about
3-4 times over a week and got most to turn some. I should have taken them
out and reinstalled with Never Cease as now none will move. I'll be taking
the mast down this winter and will work on this issue then.

Warren,
Does your mast step have the SS U-shaped bail attached to the aft end of the
mast step?
If so, water would drain out of the mast from where this bail attaches.
There is no "visible" drain.
Were you to remove the cast alum mast step plate and --turn it over-- you
would see a channel leading to the attachment point for this bail.
An eng. drawing or photo would make this more clear.

I checked-out ours this weekend and couldn't find the weep hole either. Ours
is also a 1994 so perhaps the original mast plates didn't have that design.
There must be some other method to allow for drainage. Anyone have any
ideas?

Subject: [C320-list] Mast step drain
Looking for some more help on an issue I posted a few weeks ago. I have
water leaking down the compression post when it rains. On the outside of
the post. Some members mailed back right away saying there is a drain hole
in the mast step that may be blocked (thanks for the prompt response, I
tried to post back but could not figure out how to do that). I am at the
boat now but can not find the drain hole. Our example is a 1994 hull 32.
Maybe the step design has changed over the years. Does anyone have any
more details on where the drain hole is?
Best regards
Bryan
