I agree that the larger Polks sound better than the Bose.
For your speakers under the stern seats, 
if you mount with a single screw thru the seat into the bracket and route
the wire properly, 
you can turn the speakers around to face the swim area off the stern. Sweet
when floating back there.

When I was researching speakers for the boat last year I found numerous 
less-than-flattering reviews about the Bose outdoor speakers, so I ended up 
going with speakers from Polk Audio and I couldn't be happier.

The smaller black pair (the 45's) went in the saloon, and the larger white
ones 
(the 55's) fit perfectly under the stern rail seats (the bass response is 
surprisingly good). Two thumbs up to Polk Audio.

Something else to consider,
Bose has stores in various towns that sell factory refurbished speakers at
big discounts. I think they also sell them on the web. Saved me about 30-40%
when I did the house.

My Bose speakers under the stern seats have both failed. Has anyone replaced

these? Apparently Bose doesn't make this speaker anymore and I'm having
