I also used the plastic owl with great effect ( Marine Del Rey, Ca) like the early post said it has to be able to swing or it doesn't work very well.    John      Holokai 2

I am dealing with a troublesome gull and cormorant problem. They are perching on both the upper and lower spreaders and dropping their loads all over the deck and cockpit. I would very much appreciate recommendations regarding the best type and brand of spikes etc. to put on the spreaders. Will the spikes damage the mainsail?
