You are quite correct----acetone will clean nearly anything and if allowed to 'soak' in it most things will dissappear--not metals (I think)---but it also will cause cancer and should only be used if you wear protection, i.e. gloves and a mask even though we used it a lot in high school and college chemistry classes---yes, for me that was years ago---a friend of mine (not to smart) used acetone to clean his glasses--soaked them for a while--and then he had no lens left!  Soooo be careful but it is an excellent cleaner.  Ken, OBUOY, #219

Yes, acetone will eventually eat through the plastic, it did with my C25
after years of using it.  I now prefer to using a wax cleaner.
