[C320-list] SS covers over turnbuckles

On out boat the tape wraps the rubber end caps which protect the sail and "finish" the ends of the spreaders. 

Your boat has in mast furling and has a different spreader than ours so I can't be sure how yours are taped.

In a related topic, what's the purpose of the tape on the spreaders  
where the shrouds pass through?  Cosmetic or functional?
