Three years ago Warren and Pattie were generous enough to let me tour their 320 which convinced me to buy my own.
In the spring of 2011, I am going to request another tour, to see all of these "wonderful toys".
Having spend the last two years parked "two boats over", I can tell you it is one the "best kept" boats in the marina, and *must* be one of the nicest older vintage 320s in the fleet.
I can only hope mine holds up as well over time.

On the theory that a preventer from the end of the boom exerts the least
stress on the boom, I installed a pendant secured to the end of the boom
with a small thimble spliced on the working end. It's maybe 5 ft. long,
short of the main sheet block. When not in use, it is attached to a piece
of shock cord that is tied to the boom eye for the main sheet block. This
keeps it well out of the way when not in use, and ready to deploy when
needed.
To rig, run a line with a shackle or snap hook from the cockpit fwd as far
outboard as possible. I turn it through a block attached to the bottom of a
stanchion; but, a cleat fwd might be a more secure point. Then, I simply
attach the line to the thimble at the end of the pendant and release the
shock cord. I control the preventer from the cockpit on a free winch or
stern cleat.
I really wanted to use a preventer block designed for the purpose; but, they
run about $300 and not a trivial install.

What do folks use as the on deck attachment point for a preventer?
