[C320-list] Companionway steps

I have a little of both on my MKII. I have the quick release pins for when I
need full and open access to the motor.
But I added a support cable like my neighbor's slightly older 320 has. I
considered a wire cable but was worried about home crimped fittings letting
go while I was under it (BAM!). Instead I got a ss chain at Home Depot, had
them cut it to a length I pre measured to go from a loop around support
bracket under bottom step to a snap hook that just clips to the pad lock eye
on the sliding hatch above. I just open the hatch, lift the chain and snap
it in place. No drama. The chain clips nicely in place under the step when
not in use. The chain is rated for many many hundreds of pounds so I feel
good working under it.

Happy Sailing!

Jeff thanks for your comments. I'm working on installing the struts, let you

know how I go.
