Bob

Well power is back on an its been a great winter up in till Thur. nite when the power went out.  I used the boats honda 2000 to run the fridge and micro and a few lights we have a gas fireplace and gas hotwater so we were in good shape    On the boat I put in a second power conn. for the ac so it's on a its own feed and I use a 30 amp Y adapter on my shore power cord and have had no problems    I'm still looking for more info on the Smartstart or someone who has one but it looks good and the price is not to bad

I've no cooling unit, but purchased the 2000i with that in mind.
Knowing the high startup current requirements of cooling units, I
'homebrewed' a five foot cord (with 10 AWG wire) to connect the genset
to the shore power inlet.  If that doesn't work, I'll configure the
wiring to bypass the boat wiring and connect the cooling unit directly
to the genset.
