I think the controller is only for cold plate refrigerators.

I believe Sailorssolutions.com has a digital controller for refrigeration
hat somehow minimizes the energy demand. I have no knowledge or experience
ith it. I just thought it an interesting device.

 was able to verify that the compressor only came on when I re-installed
ne of the thermostat wires.  This is suggesting to me that the controller
s working correctly and the likely culprit is the thermostat. I can see no
djustments or calibration opportunities on the thermostat so I assume it
ill have to be a replacement.  According to the installation instructions I
ound on the web it is possible to replace the analog thermostat with a
igital one.  Any experiences with the digital one?

You can troubleshoot the thermostat by monitoring the voltage across pin C 
nd T on the electronic control unit while opening and closing the 
hermostat.  Do you have any documentation on the electronic control module?
