All - Thanks for the comments on the applicability of Synthetic oil for
Yanmar applications.

Still not finding the answer.  What is it about synthetic oil that makes it
a specification for some manufacturers and a no-no for others?  Mercedes and
VW are both reported to recommend synthetic.  Also, Yanmar has two engine
models that they recommend using only synthetic.

Anyone got a recomendation on oil filter brand, type....?
