Haven't noticed but I'd suspect we will have better luck getting the
government to fix this if it does get worse now that almost everyone has
a gps in their car. As always safety in numbers.

Subject: [C320-list] OT - GPS Chartplotter points kinda wacky

I have been hearing stories about how the GPS satellites are getting old
and some are dropping out of service. On my latest trip out over last
weekend, (which BTW was awesome in a bigger and more stable boat!) we
were tracking along doing 6, 7, and almost 8 knots in 13 to 20 knts
apparent. We were out for most of the day so the GPS picked up a LOT of
points. When I pulled up the data on the charting software at home, I
had a LOT of "backwards moments", points that were directly behind me in
sequence.

I can only imagine this would be caused by either:

A - The military is randomly turning selective availability on and off.
B - Something is up with our satellite network and maybe what they are
saying is true.

Anyone else seeing this, on the Chesapeake or elsewhere?
